On Holocaust Memorial Day for many years, Judith regularly took some of her choir members to Winchester Cathedral to participate in Space for Peace – an interfaith peace vigil created by Rev June Boyce-Tillman.
Participants normally included many religious leaders plus an array of choirs from around the UK and the congregation would move around the cathedral, hearing all the different sounds meet one another, finding ways to somehow create a harmonious whole: a powerful metaphor for peace in action…
In Covid times, this has moved, very successfully, online and now, rather than being an annual event, it is much more frequent, using Zoom and exploring how this medium can actively encourage our collaboration, mutual listening and appreciation. You can find an example here.
