Based on the poem of the same name – written by Julie Barnes, adapted and set to music by Judith Silver – this song cycle speaks of simple and essential needs in our dying days – to be held, accompanied, honoured, and celebrated, with dignity and tenderness. Sometimes surprisingly upbeat, sometimes profound and reverent, it presents tender vignettes, using instruments and voices, to explore this complex, often taboo, emotional landscape.
